We're Here

We made it! And all of our stuff made it! We are pretty worn out and a little overwhelmed, but we are also excited. The people from church have given us a warm welcome and have been very helpful and hospitable.

Bob's first Sunday went really well. He spoke on 1 Peter 1:3-5. He also started his other job this week. We are praying that the church will grow quickly so he won't have to work on the side for very long.

I am trying to get settled so we don't have to live out of boxes and suitcases forever. Our apartment here is very nice.

Olivia is doing well. She's been a little fussier than usual, but part of that is due to teething. She misses her Aunt Sara, Uncle Dan and cousin Peter very much and can't wait to see them in a couple of weeks. :-)

Here is Olivia in her Easter dress. She is sitting in Daddy's new office.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a nice Thanksgiving with Dan, Sara, and Peter.
Here is a much belated 6-Month-With-Ducky picture.
Olivia got a pretty Austrian dress.

Labor Day

Today we watched some of the Jerry Lewis Telethon, read Gigi, God's Little Princess, and made a pot roast.

On the Telethon, Jerry Lewis made the comment (paraphrased, not quoted) that God was going to look down on earth someday and realize He had made a mistake when He allowed muscular dystrophy.
One of my all time favorite passages in the Bible is Job 38-42. I'm so glad that He is my God. That is what He is like. I don't claim to understand the trials in my life and in the lives of others, but I do know that God doesn't make mistakes. I love how Job answers God in chapter 42.

I know that You can do anything and no plan of Yours can be thwarted.

You asked, "Who is this who conceals My counsel with ignorance?"

Surely I spoke about things I did not understand, things to wonderful for me to know.

You said, "Listen now, and I will speak. When I question you, you will inform Me."

I had heard rumors about You, but now my eyes have seen You. Therefore I take back my words and repent in dust and ashes.

Happy 4th of July!

We had a nice, relaxing 4th of July. Bob had to work, so we didn't make big plans. When he got home, we grilled hamburgers and corn on the cob and watched the Macy's fireworks on TV.

Olivia wore her special 4th of July outfit.

Happy New Year

Well, this year, for the first time in many years, I fell asleep before midnight. Bob had to wake me up to see Dick Clark announcing that the new year was here. Bless Dick Clark. I've watched him welcome January 1 for as long as I can remember.

On New Year's Day we did what all good mid-westerners do. We turned on the Rose Bowl. Now, I do not actually watch football, but I still claim to be an avid U of M fan. My Dad, Dan, and Bob did in fact watch the game. This year was extra special because Peter showed his team spirit too.
