Due Dates Are A Myth

Well today is almost over. I will officially be past my due date. What am I doing to keep myself occupied so I don't drive myself crazy?

-Walking at Walmart
-Taking Starbucks to my coworkers at school
-Walking at Party City (and found some great graduation stuff for 50% off!!)
-Watching the last season of "I Love Lucy"
-Walking at the grocery store
-Making dinner
-Walking some more
-Playing with my nephew, Peter
-Surfing the internet

Staying Busy

This past week we celebrated Sara's 25th birthday on Tuesday. We enjoyed chocolate covered cheesecake bites and coffee. Peter was the life of the party.

We went to the seminary picnic on Saturday. The weather was beautiful, and we were able to catch up with a lot of friends. Here we are with one of Bob's professors and his family.

I also finished teaching on Friday. It still hasn't hit me that I don't have to get up and go to work any more. Instead, I'll just be getting up all night long with Olivia. :-)

And speaking of Olivia, I'm walking, eating spicy food, drinking red raspberry leaf tea, and driving down bumpy roads, and still no luck. I even checked out when the next full moon is - May 2nd. Oh well. They tell me that nobody has ever been pregnant forever. I'll have to see what other old wives' tales I can scrounge up...

Almost 31 Weeks

My due date is 9 weeks and 3 days away. Tomorrow I'll go to the doctor and then every two weeks after that. She and I are both doing pretty well. She seems to be a very active child. I think she's already practicing to be a gymnast. The other day Bob gave me a hug, and she kicked him in the stomach!

Somewhere "Safe"

Well, I will officially blame it on being pregnant. I have lost my camera. Oh, it's around here somewhere. It'll turn up, I'm sure. But I haven't got the foggiest idea where I put it. Maybe in one of my "nesting urges" I put it somewhere "safe." So my apologies to those of you who asked for another pregnant picture. As soon as I find my camera, I'll be sure to post another glamorous photo of myself in all my pregnant glory.

A New Bible Study

Tonight I went to a new Bible study. We are doing an inductive study of 1,2,3 John, James and Philemon. Kay Arthur and David Lawson's book, God's Love Alive in You, is our study guide. If you've never done an inductive study before, I highly recommend it.

In other news, Bob started his last semester of classes this week. It's always a difficult adjustment at the beginning of each semester when we get used to a new schedule. Thankfully there is light at the end of the tunnel. It's hard to believe that graduation is just around the corner! Somebody jokingly mentioned to me that it would be nice if I waited until after graduation to give birth. That way I could stand up with Bob on stage like all the other seminary wives do when their husbands graduate (except I would be 41 1/2 weeks pregnant). Wouldn't those be some lovely pictures?

Speaking of being pregnant, everything continues to go well. We're at 26 weeks, and I have another doctor's appointment on Monday. Last weekend Bob and I got the baby's room/guest room/office all set up. (Actually it was more like Bob moved the furniture where I wanted it.) As soon as I have things put away and stuff on the wall I'll post some pictures of her room. I will also attempt to get a decent picture of myself in there somewhere.

It's A Girl!

It’s a girl! The ultrasound went really well today. We got a lot of pictures and even a few minutes of video. She looks really healthy and has a strong heartbeat. Apparently I’m not very good at reading ultrasounds because I thought her stomach was her head and her leg was… well… let’s just say I thought she was a boy at first. But once the technician explained the pictures to me, I got it.

Waving hello.

Her head and backbone.

Baby Makes Three!

Yes, I'm pregnant! The due date is sometime the last week of April, and we find out the sex of the baby in two weeks.
The pregnancy has gone well so far. We've been able to hear a strong heartbeat. And I've finally quit throwing up, which is a blessing. (My kids at school were starting to ask me if I had a Sprite for breakfast every day. They had no idea that I was pregnant. They were just jealous that they could not have soda for breakfast.)
I haven’t had too many weird cravings, although I've eaten my fair share of green and black olives the past few weeks. I also think that the baby likes M&M's.
Now that Bob and I are, Lord willing, joining the ranks of "parents", feel free to pass along any good parenting advice!
